A couple of portrait doodles, done just for the fun of drawing different people. It's interesting trying to make the group share similarities but give them each their own personalities.

An Island...
....Half the World Around
Here's a pre-vis background I did for an upcoming animated short called Don't do the Dodo. I'll be acting as background artist on this project so keep an eye out for more stuff from me and links to what's going on with my fellow team members as the short develops. To see more updates on the whole project take a look at the producer's blog.
This was made as a test mainly to see if I could incorporate the composition of the original book's backgrounds and add my own flair while making it more animation friendly. Overall this seemed successful, however the sea will take a bit of planning in order to make it animatable but I'm pretty sure good old Photoshop and its wonderful layers will solve that problem.

Boo
After spending most of the summer and this first semester drawing angels it's time to move on to my next project so to celebrate here's a concept piece for my final film. Is somewhat of a relief to work in dark colours after looking at bright purple and yellow all week ;)
This is just a test to work out character designs, lighting and colour scheme and probably won't be the exact final look of the film but it has the feel I'm looking for.
I don't think Solomon is too pleased about his new friend.

Vampires...
As promised here are the vampire sketches, I'm still working out the design, as you can probably tell.
Lil' Sol
Another doodle of the child version of my vampire Solomon. I have quite a few sketch-pages full of this guy trying to settle on his design for my final film idea, I may scan them in and post tomorrow. For now enjoy.

Blue
My Sunday evening doodling. Inspired by Ben Whishaw's Ariel in the latest The Tempest adaption, absolutely loved him as Ariel.

UPDATE: Finished
A pic I've been meaning to do for a while now... Enoch and Damien finally together. Taken from a scene early on in the rp where they first meet up and despite his expression Enoch was actually quite shy, Damien just likes teasing.
Working on a new piccy :)

Armor
Just trying to design some angelic armor, you know how it goes :P
'Nother update, changed pose for something more interesting, may need to lengthen the arm a bit.
Some more WIPS, not done yet, still need to add in armor detail plus shading.
Moar
Another dump from my sketchbook. Some Tafti heads with the help of a little blue-tack head I made and an adorable sculpture made by fellow animator Chloe Howley. Also some more Loomis and some rough ideas for other pics I want to do.

Belial
What was initially supposed to be a quick portrait and turned into roughly 4 hours of painting. Oh well.
Belial is another of my rp chars and one of the least savory of the lot, which is also why he's one of the most fun.
Enjoy ;)
UPDATE:
I've gone and done a new version with a different hairdo but I'll leave the old one up for comparison.

Curse
An rp char of mine not often drawn, the father of Kovah's Deyla and my own Haden. I've been without my laptop for a while so this is just to get me back into the swing of things.

Sketch Dump
To start off I did a couple of of portraits with references from photos I have on my laptop just to try out different facial types.
I've decided I'd like the angel to do a lot of emoting through body language and use as little speech as possible, so after an afternoon I studied a favorite Mr. Bean sketch of mine to see how he used body language.
Because I want him to do a lot of acting through his hands and feet I figured it'd be prudent to sketch them too, references again were used - my own hands and feet, which is why there's only a right hand and no left - I can't draw with my right :P
Now, what are angels without wings, naturally the obvious thing to look at are birds, so here's a couple of birds for you. The first page is references from images again on my laptop and the later are real life geese in the park.
