Nostalgia

When Photoshop crashes and loses 8 frames of colouring there's only one thing to do.....paint an Andalite! Yes sir!

This fella's an alien from Animorphs, a book series I was seriously obsessed with a couple of years ago. Haven't drawn any fan art for almost five years so felt like giving it a go ;)

Actually this guy's my version of Visser Three as I used to see him in my head so not reaaaallly an Andalite....but I won't go into more incase the inner Ani-nerdiness escapes from the corner it's been put into.

An old character of mine looking particularly wild

Hmmmm

A quick 10 min pre-bedtime doodle to remind us that not even vampire kids stay cute forever. I'll give you a clue who he is: in about two months time he'll be the co-star of his own animated short ;)

Hi There

What would a weekend be without a doodle of some peeps? Very disappointing indeed.

Every fantasy world needs its own version of dwarves and giants and here's our version. No two characters in particular, just your typical southerner and northman meeting for the first time.

Gums Backgrounds II

Here's more backgrounds for you. I've only got four left to go before they're all done. Now If only I had some coloured frames to put on top of them...well we can't have it all ;)

Gums Backgrounds I

After a long hiatus on updating here's a couple of backgrounds for Gums. I'll also attach my updated (mach3) animatic for you to take a gander at. I'm now almost two thirds of the way through animating. Yay! Then I get to see all those frames again as I colour. Good thing Solomon is so cute ;)

These are the backgrounds for the first three shots and are probably the final look for the film. Sol and the Count will blend in a tad but considering they're vampires I figure they probably prefer it that way.

And now the animatic....

Ricia

Because occasionally you need to take a break from vampires and draw a granny.

Grumpy

A little doodle I did last night of Iolo as a kid, he was grumpy even then.

Gums Update

Here's an update on my final film for this semester. It's an update of my animatic, now with a mix of pencil line tests, coloured but backgroundless Animate Pro renders and two finished shots.

You'll notice that the coloured shots all have liens that are either dark purple for Solomon and the Count and dark red for Sid unlike the initial pngs I posted earlier this month. This change is mainly due to the amount of time it takes to fully colour the lineart but it is equally an aesethic choice. I found that in the case of the two vampires the dark purple actually worked better than the original palette. Time wise it was taking me between 5-7 minutes per frame to colour prior to changing to the single colour plan and now I've cut that down to 3-5 minutes. This may only be two minutes but when you're optionally dealing with 1080 frames this starts to make quite the welcome difference.

Enough of my ramblings. Enjoy :)

As you can see I've done a bit more colouring so here are some more pings for you to see featuring the new lines.
